Hi, I put together a Python MCP server that connects to a local SWI-Prolog instance, enabling standardized tool integration for agentic workflows. This allows MCP clients (e.g., LLMs) to: Autodetect Prolog tools (sta

In Ruby, objects have a handy method called method_missing which allows one to handle method calls for methods that have not been defined. Most examples out there explain how to implement this in Python using __getattr__, however, none of them (honestly, none) explain how to intercept class method (@classmethod) invocations using __metaclass__. And this is

I was a big R fan for many years, and still do boot it up sometimes when it's unavoidable, but my new job is with python diehards and they're slowly converting me. I agree with Claus's points about NSE being a core feature of R. Not having it means not just having to do a lot of lambdas and temp columns, but just having to type a LOT more quotes, brackets, parentheses, ALL THE TIME. This is still a frustration I have with Python, but at least polars is much better than Pandas here. I will also say to anyone

System Of Levers Solving problems no one else seems to be having Named Pipes to Turn CLI Programs Into Python Functions Tl;dr A named pipe is like a file that doesn't store anything. It has a path (the name I guess). It can be opened, read from, and written to, but the content is temporary and stored in memory. Since a named pipe is also a pipe it acts a bit different than a normal file. When you open it you can only open it as read-only or write-only not read-write. The idea is you'd have one process with
